Hudson helmet review

I ordered a Hudson commuter helmet for my daily bike ride. The website was pretty easy to navigate, and the size guide helped a lot. Shipping took 6 days to reach me in California, which was within their estimated window. The helmet itself feels solid. The MIPS system seems well integrated, and the fit was true to size based on their measurements. I also got a winter liner for it. Swapping it out was straightforward, maybe took a minute. Overall, a good experience.

Good everyday helmet

Got myself a Watts helmet a few weeks ago. Needed something simple for my e-bike rides. It arrived pretty quick, like 4 days. It's comfy enough, doesn't feel too bulky. Liked that I could get it in matte black. Happy with it.

Reliable Brentwood helmet

This is my third Bern helmet. I had a Watts before and then a Macon, now a Brentwood. Always reliable. This time, I ordered the Brentwood, and it came exactly as expected. Same consistent quality. It arrived in 5 days, same as my previous orders. I just needed to replace my old one after a few years. They hold up well. I like that I can still get replacement liners for my older helmets, too. Keeps me coming back.

Decent deal on a Nino

I was looking for a new helmet for my kid, and the Nino caught my eye. I waited for a sale and snagged it during their summer clearance for about 30% off, which felt like a solid deal. Free shipping pushed it over the edge for me. I signed up for their newsletter and got an extra 10% off that first order, too. The helmet arrived in about a week. It's well-made, and my kid actually likes wearing it. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.

How long does shipping usually take to somewhere like California? Need a new helmet before a trip.

R Richard 3 days ago
When I ordered my Lenox, it got to LA in about 5-7 business days, so pretty standard.

Mine took about a week to get to San Diego. Might depend on what shipping option you pick if they have different speeds.

Does Bern do free shipping often? Trying to decide if I should wait for a deal.

E Elizabeth Anderson 4 weeks ago
They usually have free shipping over a certain amount, or sometimes as a seasonal promo. Keep an eye out.

I think I got free shipping when I signed up for their newsletter a while back. Worth checking their site or signing up for emails.

Thinking about a Bern Hudson vs a Thousand helmet for my e-bike. Any thoughts on comfort or ventilation between the two?

O Olivia Harris 2 weeks ago
The Hudson is super comfy and has good airflow for an urban style helmet. I haven't tried a Thousand but Bern's build quality is solid.

I went with the Hudson because I liked the integrated light, and it feels really secure. Ventilation is decent, not super airy but good enough for city rides.

Hey, thinking of getting a Watts helmet for my daily commute. What's the deal with sizing? Is it pretty true to size or should I size up/down?

O Olivia Allen 1 week ago
I found their size chart pretty accurate, just measure your head. I got a Macon last year and it fit perfect based on their guide.

Yeah, I'd trust the chart. I usually wear a medium but measured myself and ended up with a large from Bern, fits great.

Anyone know if Bern helmets are actually good for both snowboarding AND biking? Or is it better to just get separate ones?

L Linda Wright 1 month ago
Some models are multi-sport certified, like the Watts. I use mine for both without issues, just swap the liner.

They market them as multi-sport, but for serious stuff, I'd probably get dedicated helmets. For casual rides and slopes, it's fine though.
